WELSH WINE WEEK 2025: Explore Welsh Wine in the Vale of Glamorgan

Now in its third year, the Vale Food Trail ten day food festival is currently in full swing. This two-week calendar of multi-location events is designed to bring people closer to producers and food businesses in the Vale of Glamorgan - but it also coincides with Welsh Wine Week, meaning there are some great opportunities to visit a couple of local vineyards and try some delicious Welsh wines!

VINEYARD VISIT & TASTING @ TAIR GAFIR WINES
Saturday 31st May, 2pm - 4pm

Tair Gafr Wines invite you to join them for a vineyard tour and tasting. This small family-run vineyard, prioritises natural viticulture, ensuring their wines reflect the unique terroir. The event will start with a tour of the vineyard where visitors will learn about viticulture on an organic vineyard. As part of the tour, visitors will also get to meet a myriad of resident animals - from alpaca to mini sheep! The event will culminate with a tasting of Tair Gafr's selection of natural wines.

TOUR & WINE TASTINGS @ ST HILARY VINEYARD
Sunday 1st June, 11am -1pm / Tuesday 3rd June 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Situated just a mile from Cowbridge, St. Hilary Vineyard boasts a hectare of young vines blending farming tradition with modern techniques. Visit St. Hilary Vineyard for a guided tour of their vineyard, wildflower meadow, and orchard, where they will be showcasing the region's burgeoning wine industry.

Learn about their sustainable farming practices, minimal intervention methods and sustainable principles, where they prioritise selling products like apple and grape juice locally to minimise food miles.

Enjoy an optional tasting of wines from St Hilary Vineyard and other vineyards located in the Vale of Glamorgan. St Hilary Apple Juice will also be available to sample. Tickets are £5pp (plus £10 for additional tastings).
